the jamaican reggae producer harry j recorded some of his most successful artists during the late 60’s / early 70’s. the first local hit he recorded was the beltones “no more heartaches”. this compilation album puts down the focus on the classics from his first years in music business. it’s one of the long players from trojan’s early years when boss reggae ruled the dancehalls all around the uk and jamaica. the fine production of songs by king cannon, herbie carter and trevor shield can all be found on this 12-track lp.

russian born and very gifted musician aleceo is a new addition to the ongoing rooster of copenhagens prolific music for dreams label - aleceo came to attention of label boss kenneth bager with the brilliant first ep clouds. aleceo has his own musical voice, he produces and composes music that is rich in harmonies and melodies he sits somewhere between balearic and deep house combining the past and moving forward and this double vinyl teletrip is an excellent taster of his many talents and a real body of work.

the flamboyant and off-kilter title track from rones latest album, mirapolis is one of the last solo tracks that the producer composed in the spring of 2017: its one of the rare tracks on the album for which i thought about the live performance. while putting the final touches to it in the studio, i imagined myself at festivals via memories of previous tours. i wanted to record a festive track, which completely stands by its funfair vibe. with this new four-track ep (including three remixes), combined with a new video by aurélie castex, rone extends the carnival of electronic cultures of his latest musical citadel to the dancefloor – and our screens. johannes brecht, shadow craftsman of the hamburg label diyanamics studios, offers a refined reading throbbing with cerebral pulsations. appropriating the main theme in a subtle way, coated with multiple harmonic layers, his textures alternate white noise with organic basses that builds up to a delightfully classical cello outro. german-based figurehead of the south american scene, comeme label boss and founding member of the late closer music project, matias aguayo, has never ceased throughout his career to set off little revolutions on the planet of demanding dancefloors. playful and wild, aguayo sweeps in with a ritornello of chiptune sounds and orchestral arrangements, washing it over with a huge wave of analog synthesizers that destroys everything in its path. french techno scene boss laurent garnier embraces the original piece in all its meticulousness and its psychedelic lifeblood. a hypnotic and mischievous loop infiltrates itself without warning into the reptilian cells of the listeners brain.

after being one of the many standouts on the we are opilec…! vol. iii compilation back in 2016, i-robots glamouflage is now getting a full vinyl release with artwork by tomozo kevorkian, who was designer for nyc s body & soul, and remixes by a standout team of producers from japan to switzerland to south africa and the usa. opening up the ep is a fantastic new take ii version from label boss i-robots, who added exclusive chinese vocal samples recorded on the streets of huang jiang city many years ago. the track is inspired by ennio morricone and supermax and is a loose and infectious groove with brilliant drums and percussion and an elastic bassline that really gets you moving. it s a subtle update to the original—also included here as a bonus cut—which itself is a steamy and tropical sounding groove. swiss electronic pioneer schaltkreis wassermann then features on a version of the original that reaches for the cosmos with its rugged bass riffs, tumbling toms and busy, ever evolving groove. it has a big breakdown with exotic synths wandering through the night and oodles of effects and big guitar licks. the first of the remixes comes from kuniyuki takahashi who has been a big supporter of i-robots since 2000. he is a sound designer from japan who had a compilation of his works put out by music from memory back in february. his version is laden with cosmic synths and chants, grunting and organic drums and is sure to be massive this summer thanks to its open air vibes. detroit s underrated but vital gary martin is the boss of the teknotika label and his version featuring colten decker playing an unusual sax line shows another side to the motor city. it s a curious and mysterious tune that makes for an unsettling atmosphere that keeps you locked throughout as it snakes along.

the melting point ep is back on dame-music! following the well-acclaimed volume 1 last december, which included tracks from kink, thomas p. heckmann and bloody mary, dame- music is proud to present volume 2 of this acid project, this time with label boss bloody mary inviting three guests to share the record with her. the photo used in the artwork for this release was taken in sydney s king cross district in early 2018, and features street art by owmag. thanks to this amazing artist for allowing us to use his work. once again, the melting point concept sees bloody mary invite some of her favourite and most well-respected producers to the label with these 4 original tracks. the melting point ep vol. 2 marks the fusion of four renowned producers including hardfloor, josh wink and alien rain and mary herself. this release is sure to be heard on dancefloors this summer! 4 tracks made by and for acid lovers.

opilec music s eclectic remix series rolls on with another essential package, this time tackling a single from label boss i-robots s law of robotics album back in 2008. adding their own spin to things are red axes and hiroshi watanabe aka kaito after likes of kuniyuki takahashi, djembe monks, danny ocean, los hermanos, gary martin, alexander robotnick, daniele baldelli & marco dionigi have all stepped up previously. isreali duo red axes go first, a pair known for mixing up synths and guitars in exciting new ways on labels like hivern discs, i m a cliche and esp institute amongst others. their excellent version of the track re-works it as a deep and spine tingling house cut. moody chords lull you into a hypnotic and zoned out groove that is finished with some intoxicating spoken words. hiroshi watanabe aka kaito is next, an acclaimed kompakt and transmat artist who makes succulent techno with ambient atmospheres. his brilliant version here is just that, with cosmic chords and slippery rubber beats carrying you away into the night. warm and inviting, it elevates you to the next level over its long length, it is a classy bit of techno that also comes as a stripped back instrumental version.

not much to say about our 6th release, as the music speaks for itself. a heavyweight v/a with some of the finest artists of our scene, including bomb tracks from uvb, endlec, kwartz and, one of our all-time favourites, dj boss! proudly compiled and presented!

assertiveness can be virtue. hence, boss moves - luca lozanos debut for running back - is aptly titled. generously spread over two vinyl plates, lozano investigates the hybrid sound that once was embodied by groups like future sound of london, labels like guerilla and djs such as sasha or dave angel. blessed with the production of skills of today, the eyes of a tailor and the chemoreceptors of a perfumer, the klasse wrecks and grafiti tapes man delivers nine tracks that do it all: tribal, trance, breakbeats, house, 303s, bleeps, rave, dubby deepness and pianos. like a trip down the 3d-visual-kaleidoscopic-artwork* hole or a snake charmer without a flute. intake as a whole, record it to your tape desk and feel like tuning into on a pirate station in ‘95. happiness is just around the bend. *none of that can be found here. see explosive black-and-white sleeve for further reference.

cosmic bridge kicks off 2018 with an energetic four-track ep full of fresh ideas. proc fiskal is the alias of 21-year-old joe powers, an edinburgh native who fell in love with uk dance music and the various strains of the hardcore continuum thanks to youtube. he refined these inspirations at 160 bpm and began to receive airplay from the likes of grime veteran dj spooky. a debut ep for hyperdub followed in 2017, speeding grime to jungle tempos for fascinating results. these unique tracks caught the ears of om unit leading to the hello boss ep, on which proc fiskal further explores the sweet spot between dark garage, grime and ragga jungle.

raunchy r&b-funk out of seattle! camelot records, operated by jan kurtis skugstad from 1964 to 1966, released an astounding number of 45s during its short time of existence. jim pipkin & the boss fives mr. c.c. and walkin the duck were one of them. camelot is best known in collector circles for two monster releases by organist ron buford (accompanied on vocals by ural thomas on deep soul). originally mr. c.c. and walkin the duck were released on two different 45s. from now on you can save your og copies by playing this much crispier sounding re-issue.

this is a really special record for label boss apoena, as he show us his sampling art work as never before. being a brazilian producer him self, he delivers a 4-tracker colection of sofisticated deep house versions of intrumental brazilian music from the 70s and 80s. this is a jewel for bar and pub events or any deep house dancefloors

philipp boss is a new cat to the scene but he is most definitely here to stay. we re really happy to present his first long player titled -boss-. expect nothing less then a future classic in house music history.

as ever, the next project on opilec music is one with a rich back story this time paying homage to a very specific disco scene of the early 80s: it finds label boss i-robots turning out one of his brilliant reconstructions, namely of a classic and cult track by one hit wonders ahzz. this track was first released on land of hits, a label run by peter brown (who also wrote -material girl- for madonna) and michael campbell and has now been officially licensed for this reissue by opilec music. the track, new york s movin was huge on the new york disco scene and was played by the likes of david mancuso at the loft, larry levan at the paradise garage and by nicky siano at studio 54, but continued to be a big hit with modern new york tastemakers kenny dope, dj spinna, danny krivit and his body & soul party crew well into the 90s, as well as with stars like motor city drum ensemble and bulljun. i-robots is a notorious producer and record collector with a vast understanding of the history of house and disco and his version combines an original vocal and instrumental version into something really magical. new york s movin (i-robots reconstruction take i) is a jangling, organic and lose limbed disco number with a funky drum line, soul in its bones and plenty of lovably rough percussion, clicks and drums. a retro and impassioned vocal line adds flair to the track at the midpoint just before that groove kicks once more. this version is featured on the new i-robots - reconstructions 2007-2017 10th year anniversary release. new york s movin (i-robots reconstruction take ii) is then just as emotive and outgoing but after the break has more of a focus on funk. this is a huge party starting track filled with feel good vibes and once again proves opilec music work on only the most special projects.

the talents of enei and critical boss kasra combine once more to kick off 2018. with the infamous jakes on title track vocal duty, the transmitter ep rolls out four pieces of low-slung, sci-fi drum & bass designed for darkened rooms across the world.

sau poler teams up with modern obscure music label boss pedro vian on this beautiful record, inspired by the dialogue between darkness and light. the catalan duo previously worked together on the hard hitting paral.lel, which was released via xlr8r in 2015. on el pas del temps, they present four melodic efforts.

perc trax completes its duo of “bitter music” remix eps with this three tracker that aims directly for the dance floor. opening up proceedings is dax j, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last few years and who here serves up an irresistible take on “unelected” fueled by the driving energy his productions and sets have become famous for. next up stroboscopic artefacts boss lucy layers shifting textures over popping kick drums for a version of “wax apple” that perfectly blends form and function. lastly matrixxman, himself another of the key break out artists of the last few years, takes control of “rat run” and morphs in into a rolling drum track built on rolling toms and topped off with dubbed out elements of perc’s original mix.

the 7 year anniversary of dame-music continues! following the well-acclaimed various artists ep earlier this year, which included tracks from boo williams, the analogue cops and milton bradley vs bloody mary, dame-music is back and proud to present its 36th release, this time inviting two very special guests to share the record with label boss bloody mary. the melting point ep marks the fusion of three renowned producers including kink, thomas p. heckmann and bloody mary. it s no secret that these three are acid lovers, and their combination on this release shows three different takes on the acid sound. both kink and thomas p. heckmann need no introduction. bloody mary has followed their music for many years and the melting point ep marks the coming together of mary with two of her most respected acid producers, all on the one record. dame-music promises all three tracks will damage the dancefloor each in their own way, just be sure to play them loud. over the past 7 years, dame-music has shaped its identity by continuously releasing a distinct blend of techno and house music. 2018 shows no signs of slowing down, stay tuned!
